B. Matthew’s Eatery, at 325 E. Bay St., will be closing for renovations on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, for approximately one week. An official reopening date will be announced.

"The renovations to the historic building will include the installation of a staircase leading from the main floor to the second-floor space," a spokesperson says.

"The addition of the staircase will grant access to the second level for guests to use for additional restaurant seating and private events. The renovations will also include a new bar with seating on the second level."

“Operating in such a tight space at B. Matthew’s has always been a bit of a challenge for us,” said Brian Huskey, owner of B. Matthew’s Eatery.

“The renovations and addition of seating on the second level will allow us to expand our offerings to larger parties and groups. In fact, the staircase will actually be made to resemble the original staircase that used to exist when the building was first constructed many years ago. It’s an exciting addition and one I think our patrons will appreciate.”
