Benchmark

Benchmark is defined as something that serves as a standard by which others may be measured or judged; a point of reference from which measurements may be made. Luke Batchelder’s BFA solo exhibition, benchmark: a standardized exhibition, examines his own personal relationship to home construction and building. Influenced by his time working on the job site with his father and a recent job working on a film set as a prop maker. His work draws on spirituality, masculinity, symbolism and identity, investigating the connections to post-minimalism.
