Film: Badlands
Auteur director Terrence Malick's impressive debut film. An impressionable teen girl (Sissy Spacek) from a dead-end town and her older greaser boyfriend (Martin Sheen) go on a killing spree in the South Dakota badlands. The story, though fictional, is loosely based on the real-life murder spree of Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend, Caril Ann Fugate, in 1958. Followed by a post show discussion of the film.
