Film: Discovering Dave: Spirit Captured in Clay
Dave was a literate slave potter from the Edgefield District of South Carolina. In this 49-minute documentary, Dave’s life is examined as well as his wares, which allow him to be “heard” over a distance of one hundred and fifty years. Filmmaker and archaeologist George Wingard will present the film and host a Q&A afterwards.
