Five Years That Changed Savannah Forever: Reflecting on the Civil Rights Movement through the W. W. Law Photograph Collection

The exhibition documents five of the most turbulent years of the Civil Rights Movement, 1960-1965, through approximately forty photographs from the W. W. Law Collection. Each image tells the story of Civil Rights in Savannah through the lens of W. W. Law’s work as president of the Savannah Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Guest curator and former Savannah Mayor Dr. Otis S. Johnson will discuss the images, W. W. Law, and his personal experiences as a participant in Savannah’s Civil Rights Movement during a formal program starting at 6:00 p.m.
