Georgia Blue Crab: Coastal Stewards Workshop

Did you know the scientific name for blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, means “savory beautiful swimmer”? This delicious crustacean is one of the top fisheries in Georgia and has played an important role in the state’s history, economy and culture. Join us for a workshop at the UGA aquarium to learn about all aspects of this important animal. Over this weekend you will catch and pick crab while learning about the unique history of crabbing in the state and the science behind blue crab ecology and management. Ages 18 and up.
