Growth: Sculpting Memories

Growth: Sculpting Memories, is a two-person exhibition of ceramics and mixed media sculptures. Artists, Beth Geraghty and Glastellar work with motifs of flora symbolic of their personal experiences. The sculptural pieces include the images and structural qualities of plants. Geraghty’s work centers on the biological and progressive development of DNA and how it parallels physical and mental growth. Glastellar’s pieces features plants native to their childhood home in Washington state, which is an extension of their narratives involving childhood memories. The artists’ process of making ceramics is demanding and physical, which further contributes to the theme of body and nature.
