Introduction to Indigo
Learn the basic techniques of indigo cloth-dyeing as we explore West African histories and meanings of this ancient art form. We will introduce traditional patterns of adire (tie-dye) and adire eleko (starch paste resist) to create unique personal designs. Along with structured exercises there will be plenty of time for creative experimentation. Each participant will leave the class with two or more completed projects.
