Telfair’s observance of Juneteenth reaches its 17th year with a day of activities, storytelling and performance celebrating freedom and African American culture. The museum welcomes back Dr. Jamal Toure as the African Spirit to open the event with a libation ceremony, followed by children’s activities, storytelling, presentations by Atlanta visual and spoken word artist rEN Dillard (original co-founder of Savannah’s Spitfire Poetry Group), and a special musical performance at 3pm by Bokei Carribean Vibes Steel Drum Band.
