Knee Deep

The exhibition includes recent mixed media works that focus on the relationship between humankind, nature and fabrication. SCAD alumnus Adair (B.F.A., painting, 2014) creates from the standpoint of the ecofeminist theory, that the destruction of the natural world is directly linked to the suppression of the voices of women and marginalized communities. In Adair’s layered paintings, she highlights the attempts to replace or control nature through synthetic substitutes and the resulting disconnection between humans and nature.
