Between 2000 and 2018, China has moved from a bit player in Africa to become the continent’s largest trade partner, surpassing the United States in 2009. The speaker is W. Gyude Moore, visiting fellow at the Center for Global Development, who previously served as Liberia’s Minister of Public Works, and country lead on the construction and maintenance infrastructure from December 2014 to January 2018.
