The Ossabaw Island Foundation’s Annual Meeting/Mainland Showcase event, plus a celebration of the 107th birthday of Eleanor “Sandy” West, a former owner/resident of Ossabaw Island who now lives in Savannah. This year's gathering of Ossabaw Island friends and advocates recognizes the 1970 passage of the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act, Georgia's landmark legislation that protects 378,000 acres of tidal salt marsh on the coast.
