Racial Healing: The Weeping Time

Come to see and hear Gullah Geechee master storyteller Patt Gunn tell of Georgia’s Weeping Time, The largest single sale of enslaved people in United States history. The auction was held 2 miles from downtown Savannah on March 2, 1859. It is known as “The Weeping Time” in part because it rained non-stop for the two day sale of more than 400 men, women and children.
