Reclaim. Revive. Restore. is a M.F.A. thesis exhibition by Sarah Murphy that features a collection of contemporary jewelry inspired by the ancient Japanese technique of Kintsugi. The Kintsugi process of mending a broken ceramic vessel with gold adhesive is reinterpreted into the context of jewelry making with imperfect elements. Through the act of repetition and working with materials deemed invaluable, the collection is a representation of finding beauty in life’s imperfections.
