SCAD Savannah Film Festival: The Big Sick

Kumail is a Pakistani comic who meets Emily, an American graduate student, at one of his stand-up shows. As their relationship blossoms, he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her. When Emily suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, Kumail finds himself bonding with her parents, and facing his family’s expectations and his true feelings. Q-and-A with actors Holly Hunter and Zoe Kazan to follow screening.
