Seminar: Copyright Basics for Arts and Art Collectors

You’ve completed your work of art, or you’ve just purchased a new masterpiece for your home or office. Now who owns the work and controls the right to exploit it? This workshop with Dr. Christen Higgins Clougherty of Savannah State University will provide an overview of the copyright law in the United States as it relates to the arts industries. Topics to be discussed will include the purpose of copyright law, what it applies to and what it doesn't apply to, rights conferred by copyright, works-made-for-hire and works created as an employee, fair use, copyright reversion, sharing of copyright, and licensing of rights. Presented by ARC Savannah.
