Susan Earl
Raised in New York, Susan Earl earned a BS in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin. A self-taught photographer, she was an artist-in-residence on Ossabaw Island, and became an early SCAD photo faculty member. The exhibit at the JEA is a photography exhibit displaying a sample of Savannah’s rich cache of hand-painted signs from storefronts and facades of African-American churches, barber and beauty salons, restaurants, seafood emporiums and auto repair/carwash businesses.
