The Heritage of a Place
Influenced by the ideas of the Craftsman Movement, SCAD M.F.A. Fibers Candidate Caroline Hughes’ work includes woven and wrapped textile work, which reposition past forms and describe phenomenological landscapes. Her technical skill and knowledge of historic textiles work through questions of capability, artifact, tacit knowledge, obsolescence, and the narratives connected to the places of craft practice.
