"Neosublime" is an art exhibition of contemporary artwork by Savannah artist Kathy Varadi. Six large format oil paintings representing the contemporary philosophical sublime are displayed. The sublime usually means anything extremely good, enjoyable, or beautiful; the philosophical sublime describes things that are awesomely great, incomprehensible, and instill fear. Sea level rise from global warming, the COVID pandemic, and political chaos are mind boggling, beyond all comparison and greatness, cause fear and destruction are examples of the philosophical sublime and are presented in the form of strikingly beautiful abstract and realistic landscapes and seascapes with subtle signifiers. Reception April 22, 5-7pm.
