Voting Rights Lecture Series

Topic is Women and the Vote, Speaker: Dr. Marjorie Spruill, author of "Divided We Stand: The Battle Over Women’s Rights and Family Values that Polarized America" and professor at the University of South Carolina. After an almost 100-year struggle, women won the right to vote with passage of the 19th Amendment. As divisive as it was galvanizing, the fight for women’s suffrage brought about a revolution in women’s rights. 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.
