OCEANS, Organization to Commemorate Enslaved African American Nationals, Inc., Journey by Faith, Inc., Otis J. Brock III Elementary School, Ivory Bay CDC, and Georgia Historical Society invite you to a commemoration in honor of the 429 people sold at the “Weeping Time” slave sale in Savannah on March 2nd and 3rd, 1859, the largest sale of enslaved persons in U.S. history. Bring an umbrella and recognize the 159th anniversary of this infamous event.
