Winter Science Series: Sampling Cruise

Join the crew of the Research Vessel Sea Dawg for a sampling trip. Our 43' trawler will pull it's 25' otter trawl net along the bottom of a tidal river to collect marine specimens. Participants will be able to examine, learn to identify and record all of the animals collected. In each trawl the animals found will vary, but typical catches include fish of all shapes and sizes, horseshoe crabs, squid, stingrays and more. All the data recorded becomes part of Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources marine inventory record. Registration required by Feb. 2
