"The shooting was reported just after 11 p.m. Metro officers responded to the scene, finding Semaj Clark suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound," police say.
Clark and Walter Stevens-Brown, 18, were together on River Street "where they encountered a group of individuals. Clark and Stevens-Brown reportedly accepted an invitation by the group to accompany them to Yamacraw Village. Once they arrived at the 500 block of Yamacraw Village, a male suspect produced a gun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The victim’s ran away. Clark was shot while attempting to flee," police say.
Nearby Metro officers noticed several males, including Bryant, "running west over the Bay Street viaduct. Officers stopped and detained these subjects for identification."
They were transported to police headquarters for interviews. Investigators determined that Bryant was the shooting offender.
Bryant is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of armed robbery. He was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
"Two persons of interest also are sought for questioning in this investigation. Both are black males possibly in their teens," police say.
"The first is described as tall, with a light complexion. During the incident he wore a red hooded sweatshirt. The second subject is described as short in stature, with a dark skin tone, possibly wearing a blue and red striped shirt during the incident."
Robbery Unit detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are investigating an armed robbery of a pharmacy on the 11000 block of Abercorn Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators describe the suspect as a white male in his 50s, standing about 6-0, with an average build. "He has a salt and pepper-colored beard and a long ponytail that may be a hair extension. The suspect has dark hair with patches of brown or blond at the crown of his head," police say.
At about 12:45 p.m. Metro responded to the scene following reports of an armed man entering the pharmacy demanding prescription drugs. "Staff complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then fled in a blue or silver Honda SUV. No injuries were reported," police say.
The suspect may have fled toward Deerfield Road. Anyone with information on this case should call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department obtained four warrants and made three arrests in a triple shooting in September, on the 1400 block of Barnes Drive. The shooting injured Asim Simmons, 19, and claimed the lives of Jayquan Turner, 24 and Javon Wilson,19.
Emile Randolph, 32, who on Sept. 18 was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in this case, is now charged with murder. His warrants were served at the Chatham County Detention Center.
Tom Frazier, 18, was arrested at an apartment on the 11000 block of White Bluff Road and charged with armed robbery.
Asim Simmons was arrested on the 100 block of Queen’s Retreat and charged with murder and armed robbery. Investigators also have obtained arrest warrants for Quamelius Lee, 20, who is wanted for murder and armed robbery.
Investigators ask the public’s help in locating Lee. He is a black male, standing 5-11 and weighing 140. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.
On Sept. 12, shots were fired as the victims and suspects in this case met outside of an apartment building to settle a dispute about a robbery that occurred the day before.
The Southeast Region Fugitive Task Force (SERTF), the Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team (UNIT), Metro’s K9 and Southside Precinct Crime Suppression units aided in the arrests.

Connect Savannah has obtained a memo which was specifically addressed today to "County Commissioners" and "All County Staff" in which Chatham County Manager Lee Smith cited new Georgia state law in increasing security at the Old Courthouse downtown, where the County Commission meets.
Observers say the memo was directly inspired by the recent controversy in which County Commissioner Yusuf Shabazz is alleged to have lifted his jacket to show his handgun in an intimidating fashion to Shaundra McKeithen after a recent candidate forum.
McKeithen is challenging Shabazz's wife Estella for City Council District 5.
"Effective immediately all persons entering the Old Courthouse located at 124 Bull Street will be subject to metal detector scanning and searching of handbags, backpacks, briefcases, etc. This measure has been put in place per Georgia state law," Smith writes in the memo.
In the memo, Smith goes on to pointedly add:
"There are no exceptions to any of the public, County staff, or County Commissioners."

Dozens of local runners celebratec the completion of a new running trail around Daffin Park, and to officially name it the Robert Espinoza Running Trail.
"The $550,000 project creates a rubberized 1.5-mile trail around the park, along with new brick paver crosswalks and a new sidewalk along Bee Road," says a City spokesperson.
"It's one phase of a larger SPLOST-funded plan that has improved Daffin Park with new ornamental lighting, hardscape, sidewalks, parking areas and playing fields."
"Daffin Park is so great because it offers so many opportunities to be active, and studies have shown that an active lifestyle improves health, increases brain development, and makes people happier," said Alderwoman Mary Ellen Sprague, whose 4th District includes Daffin. "Robert Espinoza knew all this, and his efforts to get more people out and active in the community has had lasting effects on our community. I can think of no better person to name this trail after."
Espinoza was a longtime Savannah running advocate who died earlier this year. He was co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports, located just around the corner from Daffin Park on Waters Avenue.
"Robert Espinoza knew how to motivate people, and that is why we are all here," said Fleet Feet Manager Chris Ramsey. "His goal was to promote fitness in the community, no matter your age or ability."

At about 10:30 p.m. Metro responded to Memorial University Medical Center, where the 30-year-old victim sought treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the robbery.
"The robbery reportedly occurred at about 9 p.m. as the victim walked through Congress Lane. An unknown male subject approached the victim asking for a dollar," police say.
"As the victim reached for his wallet, he was struck then beaten by another unknown subject. The suspects took the victim’s wallet then fled."
Investigators believe there were at least two suspects in this case. One suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 30-40. The subject’s directions of travel are unknown.

At about 12:38 p.m. Metro responded to the residence after Jokeera Morgan, 26, called 911 "stating that she had drowned her two daughters, ages 18 months and 8 months," police say.
"Responding officers immediately entered the residence where they located the children and began performing CPR. The two children were transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center where they were pronounced deceased," police say.
Morgan was arrested by SCMPD. She is charged with two counts of murder.
"This is an ongoing SCMPD investigation supported by the Division of Family and Children Services and the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office. Morgan is the mother of two other children who were not present during this incident," police say.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating an apparent domestic shooting.
Officers responded to the 9400 block of Whitfield Avenue just before 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. "The two individuals who succumbed to gunshot wounds are Jenny Rose Keebler, 38, and Jose Antonio Perez-Estrada, 41. The shooting remains under investigation," police say.

Chatham Emergency Management Agency warns of significant rainfall over the weekend which may result in flash floods.
"Good News: Hurricane Joaquin will remain far out in the Atlantic," says a CEMA spokesperson.
"Bad News: The system keeping Joaquin in the Atlantic is sitting just off shore and is expected to bring heavy rains over the weekend."
CEMA says, "This low pressure system is expected to impact our area Friday afternoon, dropping three to seven inches of rain over a 24-hour period. Significant flooding is expected and will make some roads impassable. Chatham County has been placed in a Flash Flood Watch that will remain in effect until Sunday Afternoon. Chatham County residents, especially those living in areas vulnerable to flooding are urged to remain vigilant and take steps now to protect their families and property."
