Suspect arrested in Dec. 22 homicide

On the evening of Jan. 29, Savannah Police, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF), arrested a 31-year-old male in connection to a fatal shooting in December 2019.

"At around 2:15 a.m. on December 22, officers responded to W. 37th and Whitaker streets in regards to a shooting. Upon arrival, they located shooting victim, Tori Sterling, 25, who sustained serious injuries. Officers also located Georgesta Bostick, 26, and Anthony Mitchell, 33, with non-life threatening injuries. Sterling was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to those injuries," police report.

During the course of the investigation, "detectives identified Alajuakee Chamell Solomon as a suspect in connection to this case," police say.

He was apprehended on January 29 and charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault and probation violation.

Detectives continue to investigate.
