Abstract Art – Painting and Design With Woody Cornwell

Designed for both beginners and experienced artists, this course will explore the beginnings of abstraction. The class will learn some of the defining uses of line, shape, color, texture, and composition in abstract painting using acrylic paint and its many mediums. We will approach abstraction from specific “points of entry”: gestural abstraction, texture and collage, music, language, and visual studies of established abstract artists. Explore the world of abstraction to become more familiar with your own personal style. Class will meet every Wednesday evening from 7-9pm thru August 12th. A materials list will be provided prior to the first class.
