Coastal Stewards Workshop: Introduction to the Coast

UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant Uploaded by Kayla Clark
Attendees at a Coastal Stewards workshop help sort the catch from a trawl on the R/V Sea Dawg.
The Coastal Stewards program is a series of environmental education workshops for adults living on or visiting the Georgia coast. Activities are designed to improve your knowledge of coastal ecosystems, enhance understanding of current issues impacting coastal communities, and inspire stewardship of natural resources. This foundational Coastal Stewards workshop will provide an overview of the geology and ecology of the Georgia coast. Practice using scientific equipment in the field and explore a variety of coastal habitats alongside environmental educators. Activities will include trawling on the R/V Sea Dawg, a maritime forest walk and a plankton/invertebrate lab.
