Film: Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project

"Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project" tells the true-life tale of civil rights activist and librarian Marion Stokes, who, for 35 years beginning in 1977 obsessively recorded hundreds of thousands of hours of broadcast TV on eight different VHS recorders in her home, 24-hours a day. Upon her death in 2012, this amazing, one-of-a-kind collection of forgotten moments and momentous stories of national and international interest was discovered and became the single most important archive of television ever created. This film details her bizarre and incredible life story and preserves her legacy for generations to come. Presented by the Psychotronic Film Society.
